Wedlug oficjalnych danych w Igrzyskach Olimpiskich w Londynie brało udzial 410 austalijskich zawodników , którzy startowali w 43 z ogólnej liczby 46 wszystkich konkurencji. Australijczycy zdobyli 7 złotych, 16 srebrnych i 12 brazowych medali co dało 10 miejsce w klasyfikacji medalowej. Pierwsze miejsce zajęły Stany Zjednoczone przed Chinami i Wielką Brytanią.
