NEWS: POLSKA: Prezydent USA Donald Trump poinformował, że Stany Zjednoczone wyślą do Polski dodatkowe 5000 żołnierzy. Decyzję powiązał z relacjami z prezydentem Karolem Nawrockim. Sprawa relacji z USA wywołała ogromną burzę polityczną w kraju; premier Donald Tusk oficjalnie zareagował na ruch amerykańskiego prezydenta, dziękując publicznie Karolowi Nawrockiemu za skuteczność w negocjacjach. Polska jest jedynym krajem europejskim, w którym większość społeczeństwa opowiada się za obecnością amerykańskich baz wojskowych na swoim terytorium. * * * AUSTRALIA: Australia zmaga się z najpoważniejszą od dekad epidemią błonicy (dyfterytu). Minister zdrowia Mark Butler wyraził głębokie zaniepokojenie rozprzestrzenianiem się tej infekcji bakteryjnej. Ognisko choroby, które wybuchło na Terytorium Północnym, przekroczyło już granice stanowe i dotarło do Australii Zachodniej, Queensland oraz Australii Południowej. Odnotowano już około 230 przypadków i jeden zgon. Rząd przeznacza 7 milionów dolarów na przyspieszenie szczepień i wsparcie personelu medycznego. * * * SWIAT: Prezydent Białorusi Aleksander Łukaszenko oświadczył, że jego kraj może przystąpić do wojny przeciwko Ukrainie w przypadku, gdyby doszło do „agresji” wobec jego kraju. Wyraził również gotowość do spotkania się z Wołodymyrem Zełenskim w celu omówienia problemów i perspektyw stosunków dwustronnych. Jednocześnie Białoruś wraz z Rosją prowadzi największe od ponad 30 lat ćwiczenia nuklearne.

The Polish School of Sydney: Picnic in the Southern Highlands


                                  Picnic Sunday  1st   April 2012

 The Polish School of Sydney once again is coordinating a very popular event:  Picnic in the Southern Highlands, Belanglo State Forest on Sunday 1st  April 2012. There will be a b. b. q., Easter Egg Hunt for children, a group photo and all day catching yabbies and of course mushroom picking.  As always the biggest yabby and the biggest mushroom win the prize money. We will be weighing them all day! It is a great opportunity for parents and friends to socialise, so bring your family and friends for a relaxing day out! 
                         -We meet at the picnic site at approx. 10.30a.m.
                          - Group photo  12.00pm. 
             -Lunch is served from  12.15pm.
                         -Biggest catch of the day finishes at 2.30pm.
                         Easter Egg Hunt takes place around bbq area at 3pm. For those wishing to attend a Polish Mass on the day, there is one at 10am at Penrose Park Monastery. About 2km further from the turn of to Belanglo Forest, on
Hanging Rock Road
. Maps of the location are available from the Committee. $10.00 ticket per person, covers Polish sausage on a bun, polish doughnut and a drink.



The School is only coordinating the picnic, so the responsibility of supervising the children on this day is that of the parents as advised by our Public Liability Insurer.
