A new painting "The 600 Year Old Song", in Polish "600-letnia pieśń", was painted by Tony Johansen. It was commissioned for the new home for the Warmińsko-Mazurska Filharmonia im. Felixa Nowowiejskiego, a new Music Hall opening in March in Olsztyn, Poland.
The Philharmonic Orchestra wanted their Concert Hall to be decorated with a permanent display of artwork from significant artists from all over the world. Tony Johansen was invited by the Marshal of Warmia-Mazury, Jacek Protas, to represent Australia in this "World Art Exhibition".
The painting was unveiled in Sydney on the 9th February 2011 by the Consul General Of The Republic Of Poland Daniel Gromann prior to its dispatch to Poland. This video shows the official unveiling ceremony which is followed by images of the painting.
Bumerang Polski was invited to this ceremony.
